With inspo from Wong Kar Wai, I wanted to do another out of the box concept during my trip to LA. That was when I thought of bringing a goldfish bowl to the beach. Why you ask? Growing up, I have raised these two goldfish for three years. At first they started in a tiny goldfish bowl and then graduated to a tank. Every morning before school, I would walk past these fish and think how they have seen nothing else but the view of the stair banister through their tank sitting on the cabinet in the opening hallway. Looking back on it now, I feel like humans are the goldfish. Especially I was in that certain case. Being trapped in an environment, in a bubble that surrounds you as there’s so many other things going on around you. So symbolically, it’s like little fish meets big fish or the big world.
